About The Artist
Ray "Biff" Wisner has been practicing marquetry for more than twenty years. The inlaying of paddles has been a natural progression for the artist, combining his love of the outdoors and natural materials with low-impact activities.

He possesses a unique ability to take the different personalities of the various woods, with their different grains and colors, and incorporate them into each specific design.

Marquetry Tools
Ray uses this ancient art of inlaying thin pieces of wood for other decorative applications as well. Architectural details, cabinets, window valances, fan blades and furniture are just some examples. The possibilities are limited only by one's imagination.

Schools that Ray attended include the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Museum School of Boston, and the Art Institute of Boston. He is a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and the Newfound Artists & Artisans, as well as being a member of the Wooden Canoe Heritage Assn., The Village Artists and the Appalachian Mountain Club.
